I seek life.
I taste the nectar of death.
I stroke my lip to it.
It smears slowly.
Reaching my intimate senses.
It is sensual.
It slowly spreads to the soul.
Every inch of my body
touches death.
I reach the altar.
It’s existence.
An illusion.
I flirt.
It’s the jar of life.
Lip touching the nectar.
Call it death, you may!
For Heaven starts from it.
It’s not the end!!!
Madness.
Trance Dance.
Ecstatic Joy.
Enamouring me
She is my lover,
takes me into her abode.
Playful as she gets,
passionate as she consumes me.
It’s the real deal.
Drawing me to its sugary taste.
Dip into the nectar of death.
Fear not death.
It’s life.
Celebrate it with full vigor and passion.
Folks, the starting words, ‘I taste the nectar of death and seek life in it’ was posted on Shonali Dey’s FB status, invited words on World Poetry Day. It’s commendable on the part of Shonali to bring beauty to the words of everyone. A festival of words where most entries were featured with illustration made by Shonali. You can check her blog here and click like on her Facebook page, Drenched Thoughts.

Thanks much, Pixie. It just started as a prompt on Shonali’s FB page. Since you are terrific story teller, do read my short story below and give your honest inputs:)
Vishal – beautiful use of words, but you know what – you have made death so attractive- I hope people are not unduly enticed.
hehe Somali, I romanticized death and love to do that, at times:)
Thank you.
