Curtain Raiser: Shoojit Sircar’s Pink-The Film on September 16

Shot like a piece of moving theater in motion, Pink-The Film long monolog was captured with six cameras and six to seven monitors in place. A cinematic experience, one is tempted to say and experimenting big time with cameras sashaying its way. A multi-camera set up that captured everyone present on set. The crew has described it as , ‘A theater performance.’

Shoojit Sircar’s Pink that boasts of the stellar cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, Angad Bedi, Kirti Kulhari, Andrea Taring and Piyush Mishra releases all over India and across the globe this Friday, September 16. The film is directed by National Awardee Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and bears the mark of the makers of Vicky Donar, Madras Cafe and PIKU.

On his Facebook page, Amitabh Bachchan says: “FB 1478 – Sitting in one place in my office we the entire cast of #PINKconnected and spoke to over 100 schools all over the country covering about 3.5 lakh students .. amazing experience .. made possible by RelianceJio .. incredible .. !” During the making of the video, superstar Bachchan shared his experience of shooting PINK, “Normally, one shot lasts for 10 to 15 seconds but one particular sequence took 10 to 15 minutes where everything was done at the same time. I enjoyed that process.”

Shoojit Sircar shared his experience of shooting PINK: The performances could interact and was almost shot like theater.” Shoojit Sircar’s PINK is touted as a social thriller which is the story of three Delhi-based girls and a yesteryear’s big league lawyer whose path cross. The film explores morality in today’s times.

The main attraction of the film is Amitabh Bachchan donning the mantle of a lawyer in Pink after 8 years for the last time he was seen in the Avatar was in Shoot Out at Lokhandwala. The trailer was launched one month back where the film garnered interest and at a special screening held on Tuesday, the entire film industry has given thumbs up to PINK, lauding it as the best film to come this year, lauding the entire crew right from Amitabh Bachchan to Tapsee Pannu.

The entire film industry has termed Pink from unmissable to outstanding and most relevant film of the year, from Kangana Ranaut, Preity Zinta, Dia Mirza, Yami Gautam, Richa Chaddha and Juhi Chawla. The film has already garnered rave reviews in India terming it as outstanding and there is a huge rush for outstanding booking all over India.

The film is produced by Shoojit Sircar and directed by Aniruddha Roy Chaudhury under the banner Rising Sun Films Production. The film boast of cinematography by Aveek Mukhopadhyay, music by Shantanu Moitra, dialogue and screenplay by Ritesh Shah. The anthem Jeenay de Mujhe is rocking the chartbusters,  which Amitabh Bachchan lent his voice to. A Rashmi Sharma Films, PINK is released all over and book your tickets for there is one day to go.   1. Thanks Vishal. I am now intrigued by this film and will definitely see it . Perhaps on DVD as it may be off the screens by the time I return to India. Good films seldom have long runs
